Digital color blending tutorial
For this digital color blending tutorial i’m using the power of luminosity masks.
Luminosity masks let you make selections based on tonal values, giving you more control over what range of tones are affected with your edit rather than what part of an image is affected.
This way you can work far more precise and you will get smoother transitions.
In this tutorial I’ll let you see how to:
- combine multiple exposures to create a HDR photo with Lightroom and Photoshop
- See why split toning won’t do it
- Learn how to use the Luminosity masks for blending in color
- Blend on tone based selections, rather than paint in the effect
- See how powerful this processing technique is and use it on any photo
- Finalise the photo
In a 25 minute video i’ll take you through all the steps of the processing and afterwards you can use this technique to your own advantage. Edit those sunsets, correct the exposure, blend 2 images based on tonal values, etc.
